The color is of deep ruby red with garnet nuances The fragrance is intense, warm, with notes of bell pepper in harmony with sweet notes of currant, withered violet and cane apple. The finish is rich, with agreeably spicy nuances of cinnamon, cocoa, eucalyptus and charred wood. The flavor has a slightly tannic attack, with a good balance of glycerin and alcohol and a long, lingering finish.
Montaia lies in the hills just outside Cesena, just a few miles inland from the Adriatic. With a constant sea breeze, the microclimate is ideal for winegrowing. As a newly-built winery, Montaia has the most modern production equipment. Every stage in production, from fermenting to bottling, from stabilization to micro ltration, is directly managed by Montaia’s own staff in controlled-temperature conditions. Production is constantly monitored by a qualified oenologist assisted by an experienced cellar man.
